2nd Annual Oktoberfest Dachshund Dash

Register your speedy little four leggers to participate in the 2nd annual Dachshund Rash! Mixed-breed Dachshunds will be allowed to participate as long as they are under 20 lbs. There is no weight limit for full-breed Dachshunds. Prizes will be awarded to the top three weiners. So, start practicing with your Dachshund and come out for the festivities!

Races take place at The Biergarten at The Shack at Panther Island Pavilion
located at 395 Purcey Street, Fort Worth, TX 76102

Cost

$5 Entry Fee. All proceeds go to Humane Society of North Texas and the DFW Dachshund Rescue Foundation.

Rules

1. To qualify, dogs must be at least 50% dachshund.
2. All participants must register ahead of time.
3. Owners of registered Doxies participating in races and events will need to show up-to-date veterinary shot records for all participating dogs at the registration booth. We need to see them but do not need copies.
4. All dachshunds must be checked in at the registration booth or they will not be acknowledged as registered and therefore will not be allowed to participate in the raced or events.
5. Dog names will be called twice before the race, if your dog is not at the gate at the time of the race, you forfeit the race and there will be no refund given.
6. Two people must be available during the heat; one at the race gate, and one at the finish line.
7. You may use a toy or treat to entice the dog, but you must stay at each end until your dog comes to you! The toy or treat may not be thrown or tossed. No laser lights are allowed.
8. You may NOT run alongside the dog.
9. Your dog may step out of bounds but must re-enter and completely cross the finish line, within the boundaries, without being grabbed. If the dog is touched by the handler before completely crossing the finish line, the dog will be disqualified.
10. We reserve the right to disqualify any pet/owner for behavior deemed inappropriate.
11. Any dog that bites another dog, person or handler will not be permitted at the races.
12. Dogs must be on a leash at all times (except during race).
13. Owners must clean up after their dogs! Please bring along your own “clean-up” gear.
14. All Judges rulings are final!
